Want a closer look behind the scenes?

Register now and become a BOH Volunteer.

We are now taking volunteer registrations for the 2011 Brisbane Open House event.

If you are available on 1 October and would like to be involved, sign up for the BOH mailing list and tick the checkbox to 'register as a volunteer'.

As a volunteer, you will:

  • Guide tour groups around a building
  • Manage queues and provide updates to patrons on estimated wait times
  • Answer visitor questions about buildings (locations, opening hours etc.)

All buildings will have a minimum of two volunteers, so you won't be left alone.

Volunteer Orientation

We will be holding information sessions for all volunteers.  These sessions will be held at:

Session 1: (evening): AIA Headquarters – Merrivale St
Monday 26th September 2011
6 – 7pm Volunteer Training

Session 2: (day-time) Masonic Memorial Temple
Thursday 29th September 2011
11.45am for 11.30 am – 12noon Tour of Masonic Memorial Temple
12 – 1pm Volunteer Training

Session 3: (evening) Masonic Memorial Temple
Thursday 29th September 2011
5.15pm for 5.30 – 6.00pm Tour of Masonic Memorial Temple
6 pm – 7pm Volunteer Training

Please nominate which session you would like to attend when you register to be a volunteer.  We recognise that the time of these sessions may not be convenient for everyone.  The sessions will cover information about the event and answer all of your questions.

What’s in it for me?

In return, you will receive a program and uniform which will allow you 'front of queue' access to participating buildings. In some cases, you might even get to skip the queues and see more than you planned.

We hope you can join us!
